
It is a condition of acceptance of your booking that you have adequate Travel Insurance. Below is a summary of the cover we have arranged through Fortis Insurance Limited. Insurance with another company may be acceptable provided cover is not less than that provided by Fortis.

£50 excess will apply in respect of Cancellation (deposit only claims £20), Medical and Other Expenses, Baggage, Money and Documents. Under the Association of British Insurers General Business Code of Practice, Fortis Insurance must advise the following:
A copy of the policy will be sent with your holiday invoice. This document contains full details of what is and is not covered and the conditions of the cover. You should read the policy document very carefully.
There are conditions and exclusions which apply to individual sections and general exclusions, conditions and warranties which apply to the whole policy.
The policy contains conditions about the health of the people travelling, and other people upon whose health the trip may depend. Property claims: These claims are settled on an indemnity basis (the value of the goods at the time you lose them), not on a ‘new for old’ or replacement cost basis.
POLICY LIMITS
Most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the Insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other limits, for example for any one item, or for valuables in total.
POLICY EXCESSES
An excess applies to claims under most sections of the policy. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is the ‘excess’.
REASONABLE CARE
You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property as you would if you were not insured. Complaints: This insurance policy includes a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint. The policy is governed by English law unless you and the Insurers have agreed otherwise. Please make sure that you read your insurance policy carefully. A copy of the full policy wording is available on request.
DECLARATION
The Explorers Tours travel insurance policy contains health restrictions. You must be able to make the following declaration for yourself, anyone travelling with you, a close relative or business associate who the trip will depend on.
FOR YOU OR ANYONE TRAVELLING WITH YOU.
As far as I know the following apply.
a) Nobody is waiting for an operation, hospital consultation (other than for regular check ups), or other hospital treatment or investigations.
b) Nobody has received treatment, other than regular medication, in the last 12 months for: any blood disorder; a transplant; any psychiatric illness; dialysis treatment; any form of cancer, leukaemia or tumour; dementia.
c) Nobody has any breathing or heart problem which has needed hospital treatment more than once in the last 12 months.
d) Nobody has been seen by a specialist in the last three months (other than for regular check ups) or been admitted to a hospital overnight.
e) Nobody has been given a terminal prognosis by a registered doctor.
f) I do not know of any reason (other than medical) why the trip is likely to be cancelled or cut short.
If you, or anyone travelling with you cannot agree with this declaration when you take out the insurance, you must phone Fortis on 08701 222 032. Do this at the time of taking out this insurance and you will be told if cover is available. If you cannot contact Fortis at the time of buying this insurance, you must do so within 14 days, but before you travel. You will be told if any more information is required.
If there is a change in your medical condition or the medical condition of anyone travelling with you (after you have taken out this insurance, but before you travel) and you can no longer agree with the declaration, you must contact Fortis immediately on 08701 222032. You will be told if cover can continue. If cover cannot continue, you may claim for the cost of cancelling at that time. FOR A CLOSE RELATIVE OR BUSINESS ASSOCIATE WHO IS NOT TRAVELLING AND WHOSE HEALTH MAY AFFECT THE TRIP.
If at the time of taking out this insurance (or booking the trip if this was later) your close relative or business associate had a medical condition for which he or she: was receiving treatment at hospital; was waiting for a hospital consultation or treatment; had been given a terminal prognosis or been told that their condition is likely to get worse in the next 12 months. Fortis will not pay for any problem which has anything to do with that medical condition.
You must agree with this declaration each time you book a trip. If you cannot agree with this declaration you must call Red Sea Resorts on 0845 226 3353.
If you take more than two holidays a year, you can make good savings on the cost of your travel insurance by taking out an annual policy. The policy cover is the same as the single trip policy, with the exception that cancellation cover is restricted to £5,000 per person per trip. This special policy allows for an unlimited number of diving holidays, with depths of up to 40 metres covered (subject to your diving qualifications). Maximum trip duration is 31 days and maximum age is 64 years. “Couple” is defined as two adults residing at the same address, who are married or living together as married.
